Rytmikorjaamo – Headquarters of Creative Forces 
Located in the former postal van depot in Seinäjoki, Rytmikorjaamo is a centre of creative work. In addition to a renowned rock club, Rytmikorjaamo is a place for work and recreation among professionals, students and researchers in the fields of music, culture, arts, communications and various business services. The modern facilities have the atmosphere of the old depot for office, meeting, events and recreational use. Rytmikorjaamo is a meeting place for people and the core of the region’s expertise in rhythm music, event production and creative forces.
The story of how an old postal van depot got a rocking new life
The postal van depot, built in the 1950s, was empty for years until the Seinäjoki Association of Live Music (SELMU) rented it as the storage place for the Provinssirock music festival in 2001. A few years later, SELMU’s dream of having its own rock club took a step closer to becoming a reality when Zen Café performed in the cleaned garage hall and the a new life began for this industrial environment. The official opening was in 2006. At the same time, SELMU rented the facilities of the former postal van depot and renovated them to create a rock club for almost 1,000 people, rehearsal rooms and office space.
The year 2008 made the difference. The old depot got new owners, SELMU, the City of Seinäjoki and Frami Oy. A joint effort began to revamp the depot’s profile, which had become a ragged urban grey, as Rytmikorjaamo, a nationally and internationally recognised conglomeration for creative work and businesses, as well as music and events.
In the autumn of 2011, only the memory of the rough garage smelling of oil, grease and diesel remained in the former postal van depot, as the bold new Rytmikorjaamo opened its doors to all kinds of creative workers. The new Rytmikorjaamo has become a true headquarter for rhythm music, event production and creative work.

Personal touch for meetings at Rytmikorjaamo!
The history of the postal van depot merges with rocking rococo in the Varikko meeting space. Sipilä meeting room is created by fashion designer Linda Sipilä, the space is a relaxing alternative for meetings. The spirit of the “Dudesons” even haunts one of the meeting spaces. Rytmikorjaamo also offers the unique option to rent the backstage as a meeting place. Bigger meetings can be arranged in the club hall or the lobby.
Rhythm soup and coffee are made by Rytmikorjaamo’s own Café Jakari. The club hall has a restaurant fully licensed to serve alcohol. We will tailor additional events for your meeting day if necessary. Don’t forget to visit Rytmikorjaamo’s RytmiShop, a store where you can see some Ostrobothnian handicrafts.

Rytmikorjaamo is the place for eating, drinking and even just enjoying coffee! 
Café Jakari is a cafeteria run by SELMU (the Seinäjoki Association of Live Music) in the new lobby space at Rytmikorjaamo.
Jakari is open on business days between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Our operating principles: Café Jakari’s lunch is made by the cafeteria, and sandwiches are prepared on the spot. We try to use only fresh ingredients and favour seasonal products. Jakari’s principles also include supporting locally produced ingredients. Each month, the local product of the month is selected for Jakari.
The club’s restaurant fully licensed to serve alcohol is open on all club nights from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The flexible, multi-purpose premises open up our mind for free thinking. The history of the building can be seen and felt in the state-of-the-art facilities where working is inspiring. We do not count the premises in square meters. We think about space.
